Wilson’s Conservation Homes is the vision of
Geoff Wilson and John McKinley. Their shared ambition is to
create the highest standard of traditional rural homes, by
combining expertly-sourced architectural salvage and an unrivalled
level of building craftsmanship. The team is completed by
chartered architect Des Ewing and estate agent Robert Wilson
Geoff
and John are passionate about, preservation and conservation.
Their partnership is driven by the desire to create homes
inspired by centuries of tradition - rural buildings which
merge with the rolling landscape, as if they had always been
there. New country homes, yet with the spirit and heritage
of listed buildings and traditional rural dwellings.
Both men are based in the countryside of
County Down, and their love of the area is evident in how
they have sensitively and carefully selected the sites. The
time-honoured and almost forgotten appreciation of their surroundings
has been vital to the success
of Wilson’s Conservation Homes.
The homes, and outbuildings, have a simple
beauty all their own - built with a deceptive ease which takes
many years of dedicated workmanship to perfect. John has hand-picked
a team of skilled craftsmen, and worked closely with them
at every stage of the project to create rural homes which
are both vernacular and spectacular.
Vision, skill and craftsmanship -
the old-fashioned way.
