Where
possible, this luxurious farmstead has been sympathetically
restored with materials which have been reclaimed from the original
house. The rest has been sourced from the length and breadth
of Ireland including the original ironmongery gates, heavy stone
slates, cast iron gutters, stone window sills and oak lintels.
With special care taken to emulate
its former glory, this linear two storey farmhouse has at its
heart a welcoming family kitchen with handmade furniture and
an original Aga. Just
off the kitchen is the Sun Room where you can take full advantage
of the stunning views across the fields. A scullery and back
hallway lead through to the back door and out to the farmyard.
Step into the ‘Good Room’ and you’re stepping
into something extra special. Its main feature is a period chimney
piece, with the ambience of the room enhanced by a beautiful
chequered wooden ceiling. Up
to the first floor and into the main bedroom, transformed
from the loft of the barn section of the farmhouse where views
of both the paddock and the Valley can be enjoyed. Spacious
dressing rooms and interesting nooks and crannies lead to
the washroom. The remaining 3 bedrooms are of good proportions
and are complimented by planked Oak doors. The grounds around
the property consist of a double garage and stables, with
loose boxes that have been formed from the existing cart house
and original barn. The garden store, potting shed and a study,
off the vegetable garden and paddock, cluster around the main
farmhouse.
